Similar Flights

Similar flights

Saw clouds in sky,
They took me to the time,
When women sat by the pot,
Water-filled with clothes
With bubbles on their top.

Both did the laundry
In sky and in town.

Some clouds like cloths
Ignored the ruler's laws
Stuck out…

Flying in morning
Brought back memory
Flying Rome, Tehran…

Horizon was too far
In maroon or blood
Making path well-swept
For coming of the Shah.

Sun's crown shined silver
But in time turned golden.

"The king is dictator, "
Audience said, afraid
And clouds scattered.

Kept running here, there,
Brave ones played game,
Ignored laws, stood firm.

And I leaned at window
And stared and enjoyed
Greatness of nature
And the man with brain
That made the aeroplane.

Felt my thoughts smeared
The Earth and atmosphere.
