Silent Shadows Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Silent Shadows

An electrifying light... so blinding
that the splinters of pain puncture
the desensitized membrane of denial
disturbing senses… like claps of thunder

Innocents are drenched with blood
as the fragmented scents of blooming
flowers settle to the moaning ground
while silent shades of gray consume

An uncertainty hangs suspend in the air
silent shadows are pulled in by the tide
In the darkness there is a flickering flame...
prayers for peace are murmured worldwide
