Silence Not Dead 2 Poem by Abednego Oghenechovwiere Omashone

Silence Not Dead 2

Rating: 5.0

The silent heaven, says the elders,
Indicates not the god of thunder is dead:
At the time appointed, he shall speak!

Watch out!

For when the sky is pregnant with cloud,
we say it's about to fall!
Now, can we say it's about to fall?
Look around and speak true!

Amidst the cloud the wind shall blow,
And while the wind blows,
Lightenings shall shall follow
And in the midst of the lightenings,
Be on the ready for the god of thunder_
For then shall he speak.

The earth shall tremble on its feet,
And Agbadagbruru shall sanction his wrath,
And all they that trouble the creeks with impunity shall for dear life run.

To the barren deserts they shall run
And in the bottomless ocean must get drowned
The earth shall quake beneath them in the thick jungles
And only true believers shall stand.

On that day when the god of thunder shall speak,
shall the Great Fall be.

None shall the same be
Save love that's ere now foretold
Is that which alone is whole
For those on high and us all below.

All these shall be when the Great Fall is come.
Even in these I say let it fall...

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this poem 21/06/2012, in response to the socio-political tenor of the moment. It's getting worse by the day and I still do feel the imminence of the Great Fall
