Silence Poem by Sarita Milliner

Silence

Silence is communication through words unsaid,
Like the hand gestures of the hearing impaired.
Silence is a message not heard by human ears,
Yet it’s easily recognized, through fears and tears.

Silence is the thoughts that clouds our minds,
It hides pain and confusion of times unkind.
Silence is the air in a room after a fight,
Like the chilly wind on a dark snowy night.

Silence is the calmness of the starlit sky,
It represents peaceful memories of days gone by.
Silence is the best teacher of lessons learned,
For it’s in the quiet times, rewards are earned.
