Should Abandoned Pleasures Poem by Susmit Panda

Should Abandoned Pleasures

Should abandoned pleasures ache your bone,
And the pain of parting catch you,
Then remember, you had dreamed alone,
And no dear thing could then dispatch you;

Should Faith be lost from your soul's core
And you call it vain, vain to pursue,
Remember, your ship is sailing to the very shore
Because God's faith was ever upon you;

Should Defeat slap hard on your face,
And you freeze seeing the winner's empire,
Think why the tough part chose your grace:
Perhaps, because your strength is higher!

Should Fear pinch, and cast hard strife,
And threaten you hot with its cruel breath,
Then remember, you have ever lived Life,
And are living, forgetting the fear called Death
