Shipwreck Poem by Annie Long

Shipwreck

Rating: 4.5

Splashes of a wave,
Shook the deck,
As even the brave,
Look to the sky and saw it wept,
They had fear in their hearts,
And the battle starts,
Against the ship and the sea,
They had some wrong in their stories,
They had their quarries,
But they all huddled for hope,
They wanted to cope,
With all they have known,
The anger they sown,
They wanted to live,
And so they would give,
All they have got to win,
They ship will spin,
It will be ripped apart,
But the sailors’ story has only start,
They repaired the patches,
Secured the latches,
The sea spewed salt in their eyes,
They wiped it and spit came from the sky,
Earth wanted them to go,
Then the wind started to blow,
The ship had started to sail,
Sailors refused to fail,
And as the ship crashed upon the rocks,
The sailors forgot what they were there for,
They reached for the shore,
As the ship was engulfed into the sea.
