Shadows Poem by Annie Long

They follow me like lost dreams,
It's all a sunset of the past,
Her life is full of painful screams,
All these things make it unclear,
She is exhausted from the fear,
Sadness is bursting from the seams,
Only wanting someone to hear,
On how she feels,
And how she wants to disappear,
Chased by memories,
And wounds that don't heal,
How she has no esteem,
As she fades into the darkness it seems,
She gave up her fight,
The shadows engulf the nights,
As she wanders in the world of shadows.
