She Wore Poem by Kathlyn Grace

She Wore

She wore a scar
bigger than she
and she wore a heart
fragile and used
and she wore a frown
like it was her rusted old crown
and she wore no eyes
she hated what she saw
and she wore no words
because no one would listen anyways
and she wore nothing
until
wrapped her in bandages
until
you gave her a new heart
until
you polished her crown
until
you gave her something to look forward to every single day
until
you let her speak her mind and cared all the same
until
you draped her in satin
