Shampoo For Rapunzel Poem by Broken Shell

Shampoo For Rapunzel

It may start innocently as children pretend at play to escape boredom
then evolves insidiously as pretense to escape confession.

Built fortresses of proud walls to keep out the scorn and rejection.
Defense mechanisms.

The surest sign someone fears the opinions of others
is the declaration, 'I don't care what anyone else thinks.'

You think that's controversial?

You'd bet...

but not if you could see my hand.

So now it's just ironic.
