Shadows, Frowns, And You Poem by Chelsea Meigs

Shadows, Frowns, And You

Leaning over the paper
Every syllable I write
Cuts me deeper and deeper
Turning ink to blood
Tears threaten to wash away the words
Engaged in my thoughts
I return them to you
And ask myself why and why not
I just canit get it through to you
Niether of us knew, know, will learn
Can't you see it in my eyes?
Time flies, is flying
And you still have not heard my cries
I'm pleading
And still bleeding
And writing it all down
Please understand,
You're all I have
Besides...
My shadow and
My frown
