Blank Minded Poem by Chelsea Meigs

Blank Minded

Asylum. You are my home
No colour, All white
Insanity around
I do not belong
For is it possible for me to be the
Sane one?
When everyone around knows
No logic?
How can you live so blindly?
The answers are awaiting discovery
Stand. Spread your wings. Take flight.
We live in a mystery
NO detective is as brave
Just think, use your mind
Numbers. Letters. Colours. Symbols. Patterns...
Remember, I beg of you, how the world is
Everything has been
Torn away
For they need to keep us
In the dark
We are a threat to their
Carefully constructed societies
Rebel! Ask questions! Wonder WHY!
Or spend the rest of your
Empty life, staring
At this _____ white wall
