Shackled By Love Poem by Maheshwer Peri

Shackled By Love

I am chained by my past,
shackled by my love
I Pray this wouldn't last,
Am I the only white dove?

My Past doesn't let me act
Their act is all but a pact
It has always been about my heart,
Everything I did accounts for a nought

How I wish it was a fair battle,
both of us free without a shackle
But matters of heart have a different rule,
detached and disguised is all that rules.

I am losing this unfair battle,
Driven around like an orphaned cattle
Lord save me from any unjust scar,
Losing this battle means winning the war.
