Seven Seas Of Sorrow Poem by Ridge Dillard

Seven Seas Of Sorrow

I sail the seven seas of sorrow
Upon rafts crafted from tears
Sliding through my aqueous prison
Burdened by the torturous mission
I am subdued by a fog
Black & Shadow tinted
Becoming one with the bog
I admittedly cannot relent against
Whilst sinners repent
Afloat in the midst of the pain
They accumulated their burdens
And the darkened stains
Of exile, in the same seas I sail
Navigating through floating bodies
Spiritual hard copies
Are motionless and forfeit to churning waves
An aquatic grave
I didn’t survive the sorrow
Through righteousness or reverence
Tide or prayer
I stripped myself bare
Vacant of faith and without care
And it was only then I was equipped
To face the cracking whip
Of swelling sea and frosty wind
It was only then the fire that drove me
Crackled and roared within
