Selling Alcohol Poem by Randy McClave

Selling Alcohol

If you or one of your companions is under the age of 21
You might as well keep on moving on,
I don't care who you are, or even who you knew
Because, I'm not selling any alcohol to you!

If you don't have a physical license on your person
You might as well start your hating and your cursin',
I don't care for your excuses or even a sad, "boo-hoo"
Because, no alcohol am I selling to you!

If you come to my store and your visibly intoxicated
And/ or if you walk about my store lubricated,
You can quickly walk out the same way you came in too
Because, I'm not selling to you!

If the person you're buying for in your car is visibly drunk
With me there is no win or ever a slam dunk,
I don't want to hear your reasoning, or your story of a sad fall.
I won't be selling any alcohol to you at all.

If you become aggressive with me for ID'ing
Just know, I'm obeying the law and I am deciding,
But, to be honest and law abiding and legal and true
I won't be selling any alcohol to you!

If you've been to my store more than three times in a day
Just to buy alcohol, this is what I'm going to say,
The forth time you show up, take your last view
Because, no alcohol am I selling to you!

I do not care that so and so, sold to you before
This is my employment, this is my store,
I don't care that you're a regular, or so and so knows who you are
I won't be selling to you, because this is my store/ bar.

I don't care that you exclaim, "Everyone knows who I am! "
"Or I've been coming here for many years! ", well I don't give a damn! ,
If you're legally allowed to buy alcohol, you shouldn't have a problem showing me your ID
If you don't, it's suspicious now wouldn't you agree.

Show me your license or your I.D when you buy your booze
It makes me more suspicious when you refuse! ,
If you come to buy drinks or a six pack or even Bud or Coors
I'm not going to lose my license, because you don't want to give me yours!
