Self Centered Poem by Linda Patino

Self Centered

You broke into my heart with easy access to my treasured possessions.
You took my love, my faith, and all my trust at your own discretion.
You said you loved me time and again with no real true demonstration.
I remember crying to the days you filled my life with such frustration.
Our relationship could never come into terms to the same configuration.
Structure to your character and mine were built from an opposite foundation.
You walked away leaving my heart empty with your selfish explanation.
When you said good-bye and walked out the door I came to the realization.
Profound love from the heart you expressed with diverse interpretation.
I place your mysterious love into a memory box titled “a heart in isolation”
