Seldom Overnight Is This Process Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Seldom Overnight Is This Process

Like anything,
From a seed to bloom.
With it noticed to be done.
Is slow.
And seldom overnight is the process.
Or repeated to occur.
As an expectation to come.

And we all from birth,
Are a part of this growth.
Until made clear is an identity.
That appears different.
From generation to the next.
To bloom.
Into what it is meant to be.

There is no comparison.
But yet...
A normalcy to wish it,
To approve and accept.
Never satisfies,
The ones who have bloomed.
Incapable to adapt to change.
Perceiving this they can prevent.

Even though nothing God creates,
Remains to stay as is.
Everything evolves.
Nothing remains not to experience change.
The proof?
We all had once been children.
Although,
Many seem to refuse to bloom.
As if allowed.
And 'chosen' by God to be exceptions.
