The night wind whispers softly as I nestle in your arms
I feel so loved and cherished and protected from life's harms
You came to me in friendship, to help when life got tough
I never thought I'd love again, I thought once was enough.

You showed me faith and kindness, made no demands of me
You helped me through my darkest times and helped to set me free
When friendship turned to loving, when, I can never tell
It crept upon me quietly, now in my heart you dwell.

The love I have for you is like no other I have known
The seeds of deepest longing are in my heart now sown
You filled the void within me that my past created there
Made me believe in miracles, you showed me that you care.

I could forever linger with your arms around me tight
I want to stay in your embrace throughout the longest night
The short time that I've had you is worth more than all the gold
All I want is your true love forever to behold.
