Lonely Vs Love Poem by Grace Burke

Lonely Vs Love

We travel through this life, make friends along the way
Some will last forever, but many will not stay
We laugh, we learn, we cry and tell each other whims
But very seldom do we let another person in.

To let another person know the self that lives inside
Is to give that person power to make us hurt or cry
Is it better to live lonely than face a broken heart
Or is it better to try just once to make a loving start.

Is it better to have felt 'true' love, to feel that someone cares
Or is it better to live within a shell then ever try to dare
To think that you had found true love, you'd let that person in
And then that love is not so true, so I guess you never win.

This question has no answer for the lonely don't agree
They think the chance to love someone will surely set them free
The ones who took a gamble and loved but then they lost
Feel it wasn't worth the chance, wasn't worth the cost.

You Decide

This question has no answer for the lonely; but, there is always hope in life. Nice piece of work.

I loved your poem. It's a Master piece. Well, love is a gamble or a jack pot. But at least we should give it a try.
