Seasons Poem by K.S.Subramanian Subramanian

Seasons

Seasons

Whirlpools throb.
The river streaming forth,
Twigs tossing in the ebb,
at war with the netherdepths.
Endless tussle.

Spring

Shadows swell.
Wind gentle yet biting,
the hoot of vehicles thinning,
eye sifting the veil for a spark
of spring.

Summer

Banners flutter.
Edges frayed by dust.
extolling a row of icons;
Voters atop the flailing mast
Await the saviour.

Winter

An invisible wall,
built by rolling years;
Mind scampering into a shell,
Blanking out snow buds.
Dying prisoner.
