Sea Of Tranquillity... Poem by Annette Aitken

Sea Of Tranquillity...

Rating: 5.0

Sea of Tranquillity

In the silent sea of tranquillity
loch's reflecting mirrored images
of majestic mountains that are
surrounded by the sanctuary of calmness.

As salmon climb the slimy ladders
the brown trout gather for a natter
flies and midges become a treat
On Ala carte menu for the fish to eat.

Eagles soar between the clouds
their golden wings spread wide with pride
as the panoramic views come into sight
like scenic pictures on moving slides.

Trees are gently bowing in prayer
as scented wildflowers fill the air
bountiful brambled bushes grow
swaying together to and fro.

The unseen creatures rustle around
frogs go basking in the sun
to hear the eerie foxes cry
as echo's repeatedly gone passing by.

The deafening sound of silence resound
with no human voice or noise around
the equilibrium of peace balanced out
in this exquisite, this peaceful place.

Where peace is found....on our planet.

ahhhh....this is truly beautiful. I, of course, am easily lured by poetry of nature, but you have wondrously painted a landscape of sweeping beauty here. This goes straight to my favorites list, Annette. Wonderfully done!

Really enjoyable read, nature is always so much better and perfect when the rest of mankind is nowhere near us.

This is a real beauty. Sharp images and gentle humour and full of reflections. I like the A La Carte idea enormously and salmon climbing slimy ladders. That's a very sharp well observed image, Annette. Looks like another of yours is going to troop off into my list of favourites!
