Sea Change Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Sea Change

Sea change

There is sea change
For dealing with an age
It is natural and customary
It is admired and wished by everybody

What has happened to adults?
Why do they commit adultery and insult?
Why ladies are being picked up from road?
And dropped on side lines as dead

Never before such ghastly incidences took place!
Intolerance has taken over and attackers chase
Woman passing on road or travelling in bus
They age molested and modesty violated with lust

This is dangerous trend
And it sends
Alarming signal for females
And reaches with harrowing tales

We are burning from all sides
No honor for mothers who have given birth to babies
Taken care and reared
Now same mothers are mostly feared

The prestigious position of mother is questioned
Everywhere the atrocities committed is mentioned
Have they lost position as holy mothers?
Or we see them as entertainers?
