Screaming Silently Poem by David Thomas

Screaming Silently

there's something going on
i feel that she lies through her teeth,
and i worry that one of the few,
TRULY beautiful and innocent souls left
will be ruined and scared further.
and what's worse is it is always
strictly out of my control.
Her beautiful smile cracks
and i catch it, she wishes i couldn't see
but no no matter what i'm always going to be
right here, looking deep through her eyes
into a wonderful shining soul
trying desperately to claw it's way out.
