Scrambled Thoughts Poem by Sebastian Soberania

Scrambled Thoughts

THERE is a show going on
a monkey is playing tricks on the boy
eating lice
an old man by the porch barks like
a dog
throughout his life
not finding solitude with his
past thoughts
a woman cannot accept that her face
is a stretch of some
wrinkles like rubber bands
a man is unwilling to finally face
the loss of his libido
some kids are born
unwanted by everyone
others look in disbelief
to all these cruelties
and injustices
everyone is a variety
nothing
no one seems to be alike
and spread like stones and seeds
somehow
the world continues to spin
on its fixed axis
same same
sun center of this
aging universe
same same same empty spaces
howling like
a maddening silence
and so she explains now
why all those
chickens cross the road
to their
avian freedom
