School, Altar Sacrosanct Poem by Jayatissa K. Liyanage

School, Altar Sacrosanct

Rating: 4.0

Crowned or not
They walked in one day, and
Walked out another day
Entering the world, bearing tags
Socrates, Pluto, Galileo
Albert Einstein, Archimedes
Luis Pasture, Graham Bell
Abraham Lincoln, Martin Luther
Gandhi Ji, Nelson Mandela
Karl Marks, Engles, Mao. Lenin
Ho Chi Min, Che and so forth
Not forgetting super human beings of
Religious faiths
What ever mission each carried or professed on
All laid one base in common de facto
Initiating three fundamentals in life;
Learn to learn
Learn to be yourself
Learn to live with others, as
Pillars of personalities
At the altar sacrosanct, let's not forget
Be it primary, secondary, junior or senior.
The School, that you and I alike
Once spent our precious juvenile days
