Scared Of The Dark Poem by Anna Maria Louisa Deyzel

Scared Of The Dark

Every night i lay in my bed
Scared, listening for the sound of your car
Listening for the sound of your voice

I try to run
But you always seem to catch me
I try to hide
But you always seem to find me
I think of excuses
But you don’t care

Every time i hear you
I shiver on the inside
I hate you
You’re a monster

You ripped my heart out
And tramped it to pieces
Every time you come
You take a piece of me with you

For three years
I have kept our secret
I have tried my utmost best
To keep you away
I have told your mother
But you don’t seem to care
I have been rude
But you don’t care

What is it you want from me?
You have taken my,
Pride my dignity and broke my self esteem
You made me hate men

I hate you
But still i feel sorry for you
You tell me all your problems
And how much girls played you

You tell me every time
Don’t tell any one
And you ask me so nicely
And then you say
Until next time we meet again

That day i know will come soon
But wait i will get you back
Even
If it means throwing my future away

Then you will know how
You have hurt me
Over and over again.

When I read something like this I have to emotionally detach - the anguish comes across very clearly & the end is very powerful. A very well written account of the unseen crime....

It's a very nice poem and it is funny how some of the most greatest poets use simple and small titles but the poem is full of meaning...
