Am I still a child
I have emotions of a child

Where must I go?
What must I do?

Mommy are you there
Daddy where are you
I need you

The world says I’m an adult
But am I

Daddy I see you
But you’re not here

Mommy why don’t you see
The need for your love

Daddy can you see me
Are you proud of me?
Am I still your little girl
That fell and scraped her knee

Do you still remember?
The nights you buddle me in
And the day you walked me to school for chess

I miss your hugs
I miss your strong arms that make me feel safe

I need you
I am lost
Please help me

I am scared
