Save The Money! Brave The Future! Poem by Somanathan Iyer

Save The Money! Brave The Future!

In my yore days even in college days
Never I cared ever for money
Wants were simple needs were limited
Happy was the life strife was nil

Serene was the surroundings subtle were the riches
Fun were the games far from money
Food filled desires sans any affairs
Needed not so many words content crowned all our minds

Changed everything in a couple of decades
Now money is honey without which life is thorny
Flaunted are the riches fanning competition from all around
Status raise with assets power peaks with yes-men

Like the eyes of a carted horse covered from sides
I looked never beyond other than the running times
Spending money as it comes turning a Nelson’s eye on any savings
Troubles and turmoil’s taking this cue waiting to wage a battle of waterloo

Planned should be the life to withstand any dawn
If not bed of roses life should be at least bed of any other flower
Not all are borne with silver spoons, silver and gold acquired later
Thus ends my plea! Save the money! Brave the future!
