'Save Me' Poem by L.C. Morgan

'Save Me'

It’s time to say goodbye
I don’t have a say or voice
He knows my truth
I don’t have a choice

He grabs me by the wings
He says it’s time to leave
Lies all over & tells me
That no one else believes

I stand up to Him
I shout “She believes in me! ”
He laughs & grins
“Then where is she? ”

He’s right, I am alone
“She’ll be here, She’ll arrive”
He tells me I have no time left
& that she’s no longer alive

Tears streaming down my face
My passion turns to hate
I scream at him, “She’s coming! ”
He smacks me & says, “It’s too late! ”

The stunning thing my best friend
Had ever taught me to date,
Is that, no matter what,
It’s never too late.

My Demon grips my wrist
He pulls me off the ground
But just then I feel a tug
I turn my head & look around

I can’t believe my eyes
I see there standing tall
My very best friend,
Had come to save me after all.
