'Concrete, Blood & Glass' Poem by L.C. Morgan

'Concrete, Blood & Glass'

Rating: 4.8

She told him all her secrets
She told him all her lies
She told him everything she did
& still he broke their ties

Now he’s sorry he didn’t listen
Sorry he let her go
As he looks upon the body
Of the girl he used to know

He didn’t think she meant it
When she said she will fall
“That won’t happen, ” he said
“You know it won’t happen at all.”

People begin to crowd them
Giving him the blackest glares
“It was an accident, ” he whispered
As he gazes at the stairs

He climbs the steps one by one
As he thinks of the happy past
When he reaches the top, slips over
Into concrete, blood & glass.
