Save Me Poem by Aryana West

Save Me

I try, but I just can't think straight
I'm a little bit unnerved today
It's growing dark, it's getting late
I never did care anyways

Walking down a lonely street
Pondering my ponderous life
Distant echo of people's feet
My skin marked by a sharpened knife

Your words run through my empty mind
You love me, but don't.. or something like that
And now it's too late, you've run out of time
And there's no second chance in a lover's combat

I wish that I could understand it
But you speak in riddles, perhaps intentionally
You know this wasn't how I planned it
But the worst part of you always was me

Angry thoughts of you dance through my head
Soon after the good ones are gone
With you I'm alive; and without you I'm dead
I'm somewhere inbetween.. all alone

You're not ready for all that comes with love
Not ready to give your heart away
Looking up at the cliff that you pushed me off of
Well now, dear, it's your turn to pay

I gave you all that I could give
And everything my heart held dear
I died inside, so we could live
You're listening, but you still don't hear

Look at what you've done to me!
Look what I've become!
You're looking, but you'll never see
My heart has grown so numb

I loved you then, I love you now
I'll forgive you if you change
Don't ask me when.. you must act now
Its my life you need to save
