Sandwich Generation Poem by Tess Rockenstire

Sandwich Generation

Adult in a sandwich generation.
Relentless responsibility,
Child growing,
Parents aging.

Chaotic life
Mercilessly need four or more hands
To run an errand.
A child, a parent needs summons me.
Plates of life is what I have in front of me.

Like a meat in a bun
Sandwich with responsibility.
Please somebody help me.
Family crisis is a distressing issue.

How can I or you left this undone?
I’m in the brink of collapse.
I’m sandwiched beyond belief.
It’s a generational societies issue.
