Saint Svetlana Communed With Christ Poem by Liza Sud

Saint Svetlana Communed With Christ

Svetlana - the one who was dealing with Christ,
Although a Samaritan woman,
She gave Him some water to drink, when He asked,
Herself with mundane thirst obtruding.

And He answered her that "the time would come soon:
All will pray to Father in spirit,
And that Water that I am giving to you -
Will always quench thirst for the drinking.

That water will flow into eternal life
And no one else will be thirsty.
And only to her He did say: "I am Christ, "
Svetlana from Samaria hostile.

And then saint Fotinia traveled to Rome,
In the cruel time of tsar Nero,
He gave the command that her hands were chopped off,
For the disobedience to Nero.

The servants were trying but hurt just themselves,
Then they ripped the skin from her body,
In drowned the martyr into the deep well,
Forever in God glorifying!
