Sadness

by: Lydia Benzakry

It takes my mind, heart, and soul
It convinces me with its words
It takes me away from the pleasant thoughts
Making me unable to escape
I am gone to the happiness
but found by the sadness
To the people around me it bothers them on the inside
It changes the way I look at the world
It makes the world look gray
The flowers are black
the sun is gone nor does it ever come out
The people walk with a chain and ball to their feet
At least that's how it seems.

Good start for your first poem submitted. Nice emotions expressed. Read PH's rules, though, for submitting poems. Don't include the title or your name in the poem area. It adds them for you automatically. Keep writing more. Good work.
