Ryan Poem by Caroline Guedes

Ryan

How I wish I could squeeze your hand
and tell you this is not the end
I pray that you'd believe me
You're lying on a small hospital bed
with, no doubt, terrifying thoughts in your head
But you mustn't give up, I beg, please.

I know you must be tired of fighting
and letting go must feel so inviting
But you are young and strong
It's been so painful and quiet
Nothing to entertain you Ryan
But if you think it's over, you're wrong

I hear that you're not responding anymore
Do you think God has closed your only door?
Please keep believing you will heal
I can't imagine what you've been through
but pain and tears make you stronger, they do
So keep on pulling through this ordeal

You must think positively, believe in angels
They are watching over you, God is as well
You know we all love you.
Stop thinking that you're slipping away
Don't listen to what strangers say
There's so much in life you can do

How I wish I could talk to you
Understand we don't want to lose you
struggling they way you have
Now you have a beautiful chance to live life
A second chance to win your inner fight
You will see how good can arise from the bad

Just imagine looking back one day @ your lowest low
and smile that you overcame the hardest blow
Only you can conquer your fear
I write this in hopes that you find
there's nothing stronger than a positive mind
It's not your time to let the world disappear
