Ruthless Binding Poem by Annie Ali

Ruthless Binding

A desiring heart connects to an indifferent soul
In a ruthless binding of their own
Living in a house made of flesh and bones
visited often by hieghts and falls
in asking and giving in the name of being known
It sleeps on floor
That embuscades on walls
It looks from the windows of the eyes
To the glazing faces of the fateful vibes
That murmurs into the depth of self
The songs of stories from the archived shelves
It takes no time to embrace a smile
That lingers for centuries to drape it in a while
It looks outside to bring what it desire
That keeps the door shut to all it abides
It ties the knot of love unbound
That turns this love into a crack un-darn
It keeps its spirit into the memories of others
That takes the ashes to the unknown isle
These two I have to let live in my being unfrown
As they connect in a ruthless binding of their own
