Royals Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Royals

Royals

Mothers' Day
-for once they
-the couple
-felt royal

Busy all floral
-on corners
-in the shops

Came and went
-the bouquets
-some vases
-and single
-flowers

During travels
-were exchanged
-hands to hands
-the roses, and dollars

A couple in their car
-followed a caravan
-flashing hazard lights
-escorted by police
-to stop traffic at cross
-a showcase for power
-of the pigs, and the dogs

The couple felt being king-queen
-not approached except for
-"The path is clear, "

They were far relatives
-by blood, of that dead,
-in a hearse; Mercedes

Man drove
-woman, his passenger
-turning left with smile:
-"Feel royal…
-…thanks to the funeral! "
