Driven to distraction
So many quirky ways
Steadfast in his routine
Set in his ways

Borderline obsessive
In the task at hand
Single minded
Persistent
Never defeated

Striving for perfection
In all that he does
High expectations
Failure not an option

Leaving nothing to chance
Nor circumstance
Carefully calculating
His destiny not dependent
On the wheel of fortune
Or roll of the dice

Pipe dreams
Castles in the air
Are not his forte
Fact not fiction
The rules he abides by

Fastidiously weighing up
Pro's and con's
Meticulously judging

Is she the one
With the qualities
To truly make me happy?

Cautiously he ardently
Studies her intently
Until he's sure
She is undoubtedly worthy

Ideas formed
Idealistic illusions
Realisation of facts received
Restore his faith
In all he previously doubted

It finally dawns
She is " the one "
Exhilarated and reassured
His doubts are now diverted

Faith restored
Invigorated
Nothing to deter him

Trust once lost
Within reach again
His soul
Touched upon it

Recognition
Of her pure heart
Silently
Has calmed him

No longer scared
To go with the flow
Vulnerability
Now deserts him

Wholeheartedly
He gives his all
Comforted and engulfed
By the love she gives him


He now can see
Unconditionally
An unbreakable bond
Surrounds him

All negative thoughts
Unrequited love
Firmly put behind him

He can now let go
Of all past pain
Sensing only joy
Only happiness
Before him

Ready now
To roll the dice
Take a chance
On life

Confident he has now backed a winner!
