Roads Poem by Arvie Calimlim

Roads

Streets full of unfamiliar faces
Walking the roads of time
Going in one way or another
To a place they’ve always desired

I sit on a bench near the road
Watching people rise, people fall
I watch where they go
In a park, a zoo or a mall

I see people get their hearts broken
People helping each other up
People who did everything
Just to get to the top

I see happy faces and warm hearts
I see tears bursting from their eyes
I see sadness within a smile
I see masks decorated with lies

Took time to observe the world
But I never learned enough
So I stood from the bench
And walked in a road so tough

I walked the roads of life
Not knowing where to go
But I won’t stop walking
Coz then I’ll never know
