Fragile Poem by Arvie Calimlim

Found myself near the shore
Waiting for the waves to reach my feet
Waiting just a little more
For my heart to find peace in it

Tried to break the water
Tried to drown all my tears
Tried to alter the change
Tried to scare away my fears

I break into a million pieces
Not knowing how to go back
I thought I was unbreakable
But I shattered with a crack

Never knew how fragile I was
Always thought I was strong
But now I know better
That what I thought was wrong

I tried to pick the pieces of me
But I didn’t find it all
Afraid to lose myself
But not scared to fall

Somehow the waves will reach my feet
I know I still have the will
The will to keep on living
The will to stand still
