Revelation Poem by L. T. Padgett

Revelation

Is it me or my ego talking
Am I close to God or just a dead man walking
Make an attempt for spiritual gain
I pray that my labor is not in vein
Begin each morning in the daily grind
Trying to remember the conscious mind
Letting my fears take control of me
This is not how it is supposed to be
Always concerned of what others might think
Pushing my sanity close to the brink
To a far off island is where I want to stay
But I am still here theres no running away
A push towards nirvana hell all around
Attempts to thwart gravity so my feet leave the ground
Constant adjustment and some fine tuning begins
So that my cycles of life will come to an end
No more need to visit this physical plane
With the saints and great masters is where I want to reign
How many more visits to earth, I do not know
I just hope with each one I continue to grow
There will come a day when we will cease to fall
Because we are saved by grace, both one and all
