Rest To Unrest Poem by Isaac Maez

Rest To Unrest

Rating: 4.5

Never the right to say goodbye
I have always felt this true
In a life that points to die
Trying to persuade others of our view
Wake up as one, go to bed as two
Heart beating a distant drum beat
Holding on to the kingdom, a kingdom of one
Taking in all of life (and death) around me
fragrance of beauty chokes me for now
As I approach a bridge of pain
Things around me play hallucinations, distortions
Tunes of confusion, yet a dance
I will never kiss, hold, make love
I will never clench a fist to cause pain
Only eternity's endless expanse a float forever....
