Rent A Ghost Poem by Annette Aitken

Rent A Ghost

Rating: 4.4

Rent a Ghost

Round up
Round up
to rattle and ghoul
a ghost of Christmas past been found

Here he is
available to rent
Bar mitzvah, parties,
special events

He walks through windows
doors of steel
head underarm
for spook appeal

His cobwebbed smile
cockroach eyes
slimy hands
that drip with pride

Gangly legs
all green and smelly
candle wax trace's
from where he's stepped in

A voice so low
he'd crack a mirror
just enough
to make you quiver

So choose it wise
your, trick or treat
the curse of change
maybe repeat.......ed....

'His cobwebbed smile cockroach eyes slimy hands that drip with pride' loved the description and the spook for rent stanza had my order in immediately

Think I'd hide behind the couch and send Mr P to sort him out! Great Halloween story. Brilliant descriptions. Those Gangly green legs.. help!

Really good poem just perfect for a spooky Halloween. Doors aren't a problem for ghost's because they always carry skeleton keys.
