Remember Who Was There Poem by Randy McClave

Remember Who Was There

Remember who was there
When you needed help and care,
No family or friends could be found
Not one of them was ever around.
And when you needed a place to stay
Only one person said okay,
And when you needed money for your debt
Only one person paid it without obligations or regret.
When you needed to be put first
Only one placed you there without being coerced,
When you needed someone to listen
Do you remember who did glisten.
Do you remember who cared truly for you
And the hell that others put them through,
That one person did it all for love
That person, I was.
