Remember To Forget Poem by Elephant Cheryl

Remember To Forget

I never understood

And I will never

Understand

Why

The sky is blue

Why

Life is unfair

Why

Hotdogs come in packs of 8

While

The buns come in packs of 10

Why

My seatmate keeps milk under her desk

Even though she knows

I think it's gross

Why good people die young

Or

Why

Mothers abandon their children

Unwillingly

They tell me your happier now

Wherever heaven is

But how would I know if God

Locked you out

How do I move on

When everyone throws their griefAt me

How do I move on

When I'm being chained down?

How do I move on

When I don't know how

Are questions still questions

When nobody has the answer?

Tell me not to cry

Tell me not to mourn

Tell me to be

Happy

But

I can't listen anymore

I won't listen anymore

Because nobody has

Listened

To me

Remember to forget and

Forget to remember

Your laugh

Your voice

Your smile

Your love

Remember to forget and

Forget to remember

You

Remember to forget and I'll

Forget to remember

Me
