Relatives To Visit Poem by Marilyn Lott

Relatives To Visit

Have you ever wanted to visit
Relatives you’ve never seen before?
Distant some of these folks are
You’re so anxious to knock on their door

Most of us have many relatives
Who live quite far away
Maybe some of them are even
Family who has gone astray

But once you make that connection
It’s always fun to look closely at them
To figure out whom they look like
Do they resemble near-by kin?

Sometimes the look’s quite similar
To grandparents who’ve died long ago
The eyes or the hairline or something
That seems to make it so

But family is always family
Better call them and make a date
Don’t put it off too long
For it might just be too late!
