Regret Poem by Naomi Fraser

Regret

Rating: 5.0

Off the edge
Don't look down
Accept your end
Accept the sound

Sound of screams
As you fall
They're not yours
Not at all

All screams ring
In your ears
Do you regret it?
Your blood smears

Smears the pavement
Smears the road
They might miss
Or they won't

Won't miss you
Or your name
Your ugly lies
Your tear-stained face

Face of fear
And of fate
Prefer to drown
Or current state

State of closure
An empty soul
An empty heart
Your blood cold

Eternal and silenced
Twas your choice
Your fault entirely
Your mistaken voice

Voice of pain
No more sorrow
Now it's ended
Gone by tomorrow
