Regret (26/12/ 08) Poem by Rachael Hardy

Regret (26/12/ 08)

Rating: 5.0

Damage has been done
Time cannot be erased
The frown you placed on her face cannot be replaced
Hurt caused by your selfishness
You caused her change
And when tomorrow comes you’ll dwell in your mistake
Realize then it is too late
Her love for you as dull as flames at day
While yours; burning brighter than the new morn sun
You will realize what you have given away
Realize you took too long
Love decided not to wait
And ultimately you chose your fate
The heart of the one you love conquered by another
And the tears shed has been wiped away by your replacement
Her heart has been mended and the door is now closed
Time has elapsed
She is no more yours

hey John, If you have ever seen a fire in the day time the flames appear very dull because the day is already lit as oppose to seeing the flames of a fire at night time
