Redemption At Sunrise Poem by Trey Salm

Redemption At Sunrise

when i wake up in the morning
i am going to write a letter
i ll say im sorry for the fighting
and address it to my mother
and i'll visit my grandfather
and apologize for everything
im sorry you are alone
now that your body has turned cold
i am sorry i cant help you
but this is all i have
a chizel and a stone..
so i'll write you a song
so when the sun slows down
and takes back the light of day
i will walk to your house
to the start of everything
and wish you were here
because i turn to stone when you arent near
and if i make it back
i'll try to remember everything
with my thoughts to rest
here i'll lay
waiting for a new day
