Recovery Room Poem by Sabrina ,

Recovery Room

Rating: 5.0

where am I?

in this cold room
so many people arround me
so many unknown people

white jackets, they come and go
they do tests and look at each other
they frown their foreheads
they never answer my question

why am I in here?

a new syringe
'this will make you feel better'
and the world fades away again

am I back or still dreaming?
few familiar faces in the room
I cannot imagine why
but they are all crying

what happened?

I know something is not the same
I try to get up, but my body won't help me
I hear the sweet voice of my mother

she says it will be OK
she grabs my hand
she tells me to rest
she won't answer my question

what happened?

I feel so much pain
I know something is different
I cannot get up

they say my body is broken
they say my legs are paralysed
they say I will be in a wheelchair
they say I will never walk again
