Finally saw the day start with the rays of a sun I had missed
Perhaps maybe to be confident in something I had dismissed
So many places seen and people come and go in pathways
Of life’s general voyage in a timeless of here’s and anyways
Still keeping walking and somehow always forward instinct
Keeps me in thought of a battle of wills to remain succinct
But surely I am ok to still keep dreaming for an eventuality
Of wine and movies, late night pubs, green fields and morality
Perhaps this one might just have the happy ending in dreams
That I’ve forever spoken yet never experienced in real streams
Many broken hearts I knew to a kiss sealed in lost circumstance
We somehow defy logic of love in politics and defensive stance
Until a moments glance alters perspectives on a pathways walk
Now thoughts turn to a countryside and natures birds that talk
To senses of every living thing which now feels like escapism
But to escape to what when all in this world is still just realism
Captured so my attention which is coming back the other way
Though divided counties and though distance not that far away
Still there is a thought like a presence within my mind today
Seems so much said already yet I’m lost to caution so to say
Sometimes the mind goes blank and its gets harder to express
When so much pain has been felt a time before under duress
In each and personal events shape a future of what’s to come
Perhaps this is all too ethereal when a connection is of to some
Something to be intimidated by before anything ever happened
Though my will is strong; yet a heart that’s true is again opened
Mind turns to passions unfounded and meetings unacknowledged
Perhaps if just two people can throw caution to the wind unchanged
Let the moment of something unhindered yet in happiness breathe
Feeling the air for the first time in such a long time from beneath
The layers we so use to hide a heart too afraid to ever love again
And accept that things happen so and not always to end in pain
